This is a high-level racing event with 3 races over the course of one week. The location of US Nationals rotates each year around the country. Athletes in contention for the U18 Scandinavian Cup or Junior World Championship teams are encouraged to attend, as these races serve as the qualifiers for those trips. The races also count for NENSA JN-points for U18 and U20 athletes. Participation in this trip is not recommended for newer skiers, and requires prior coach discussion before attending.

EC Race Entries/NENSA License (cost set by NENSA): $30-50 per race

MNC does not provide registration for Eastern Cup races or NENSA licenses to compete. These are specific to each athlete and are required by the organization, with race registrations often closing the Wednesday evening before a Saturday/Sunday race weekend.

EC Race Support: $45 per race/$299 full season

For athletes seeking MNC support at NENSA Eastern Cups, this payment is important. It covers not only the cost of race wax, but also the many hours and days coaches put into preparing, testing, and applying wax to skis. It covers costs for coach travel and compensation for their time and energy, wax trailer and van wear-and-tear/fuel over the season, and tools/wax/material replacement and upkeep.

Eastern Cup Race Trips: $Varies

MNC athletes may choose to travel and lodge at Eastern Cup races in a variety of ways. For races farther away (NH, NY, ME) AirBnB housing can be great, especially shared among families. For closer races such as Craftsbury, often a day trip is just fine. When the Eastern Cup calendar is announced in the spring, coaches will put together notes on where lodging has been found in the past, and this information will be re-shared in the fall as families and skiers are planning their seasons!

Junior Nationals (cost set by NENSA): $2000-4000

Junior Nationals is the highest level Junior-only competition in the country. This week-long championship is what the NENSA Eastern Cups help qualify athletes for, and the location of JNs rotates among regions of the country each year.
