BKL and Masters canceled tonight

After speaking with the head groomer at the range we have decided to cancel practice tonight.  As of this morning the hill was completely ice covered and the snow they do have is bordered by a lot of mud so we would end up making quite a mess.  This is disappointing but Thursday should be  better and they plan on making more snow starting Friday.

Masters 12/18 -12/20

We should have a small section of skiable trail this week.  Please bring skate skis and running gear for a combined dryland/on snow workout.

If mother nature cooperates with some winter weather we would like to put together some MNC relay teams for the NWVE Opener relays on the 23rd in St. Albans. Details are below.  Those interested please contact Rick so we can form some teams.  This could be a lot of fun – combining skiing with a social outing.

Juniors: Training 12/17 – 12/23

First off, awesome job to everyone at the Eastern Cups. These are some of the most competitive races in the country – and surely have the most depth aside from National Championships. If you kicked butt — great; if you feel like you were too far down the results just keep it in perspective: former Olympians, NCAA Champions, Junior National Champs and more.

This is a recovery week! Note the shorter training sessions on Tuesday/Thursday. Sunday location is TBD.

  • Tuesday, 4:00 – 5:30pm at the Range. Easy skate ski and games (bring running attire).
  • Thursday, 4:00 – 5:45pm at the Range. Classic ski with fartlek intervals and specific strength (bring running attire).
  • Sunday, 9:00 – 11:00am at TBD. Skiing with long, moderate intensity.
