Please Clean your kick zone! Here is a how-to video from SWIX    If you don’t have Fiberlene, you can use a paper towel and a putty knife or any plastic scraper works if you don’t have the special T87 scraper. The base cleaner is a good thing to have- you will use it often. Questions? Feel free to email Rosemary.

Calling Masters racers!

It’s race season for Master skiers!  All levels and abilities can participate in these events.  For some, the goal can be just to finish the course with a smile on your face. For others, the goal could be a new course PR.  Either way, come join the fun of participation.
We send out weekly race updates for the upcoming weekend’s events.  If you have not received the MNC Racing Masters emails over the past 2 weeks, and would like to be on the list to receive them, please email Karen to be put on the list  kalence@comcast.net

MNC wins Eastern Cup #1!

The points have been tallied, and the recaps have been written. This season, NENSA scores each Eastern Cup for team points across the various age categoies: U16 women, U16 men, U18/U20 women, U18/U20 men.

A few days after returning from Waterville, the points were up. MNC won the first Eastern Cup of the season!

Recap from NENSA: Nationally sanctioned races start off at the Roy Varney Eastern Cup

This is a pretty cool sign of what our club can achieve…with speed at the top and depth through all the age groups and racers, we were able to show the benefit of all the hard work over the past seasons and years.

What’s more, the Eastern Cups are all a part of the NENSA Club Cup which MNC is currently leading. Help us maintain the lead, no matter if you’re a Junior or a Masters racer, by taking part in some great racing this winter!

MNC Masters 12/28 and 12/30

The good news: The Range has pushed out the 1km on Sprint Loop, so we will have a dedicated loop of great conditions and grooming.
The bad news: The other trails are either melted-out or too icy to ski safely, so they are v-boarding those off with no skiing allowed.
The limited terrain, combined with many coaches out for the holidays, means we are shifting to skate (for simplicity) and to open ski (for beginner groups) with pre-written intensity plans (for advanced groups).
The Masters Training Doc has links to some intensity plans and ideas for this week.
Please be aware that the snowmaking loop is narrow in points, and we will have enough skiers out there to make stopping and bunching-up a bit of a hazard. Let’s try to limit gathering and stopping to open field areas whenever possible.
Coaches will be floating around to answer questions, offer training advice, and technique help. The main field area, which is grass in the summer (not paved) should still have some good coverage for beginner skiers to ski on!
Please remember to check in at the gate from the “USBA list” when you enter the base. As always, thank you for being patient and flexible with ski locations, training structure, and snow conditions.

MNC Masters cancelled Thurs 12/23

Due to poor conditions at the Range, we have been informed that the trails will NOT be open to civilians this evening. It looks like our Masters will be resuming next Tuesday at the earliest: thanks for your patience and happy holidays!
