Craftsbury is hosting the Supertour Finals/Spring National Championships this year. At the end of March, some of the best racers in the country will be in our area to race for National titles…but WE can race too!
There is not only a Club Relay National Championship, which we’re looking to field a competitive team for, but the Open Club Relays which we would love to have many teams of Mastesr and Juniors competing in!
You can read some more details on the dates and signups for this event at the Craftsbury event page and the SkiReg event page but you may also be wondering how MNC is going about sorting all of our many awesome racers into teams…don’t worry, as we have created a helpful spreadsheet to start the process! Click below to submit some contact info, age group details, preferred technique, etc.
We will be in touch closer to the relays as we put together teams for this cool event. We hope many MNC skiers will take part!

The Ethan Allen Biathlon Club is hosting a Regional Biathlon Race weekend at the Range this coming weekend and is in need of volunteers. No experience necessary! It’s a great opportunity to 1) support EABC which helps MNC out with Range access 2) learn more about biathlon and meet some key players in the biathlon club 3) See some great biathlon racing! If you can help, please email John Madigan: jpmad2013@yahoo.com and Thanks!

It’s looking like some transformed snow for the Skiathlon. There will be a chance of snow Friday night, but it will likely get groomed right into the more transformed base (on account of warmth and rain Thurs/Fri and a lack of recent snowfall).
For glide, having a neutral but mostly colder glide wax would be advised. Toko Blue or Swix PS6/PS7 would be great starting points. MNC will have wax support consisting of some liquid or wool non-fluoro topcoats, and these are best applied over a well scraped/brushed ski with a recent coat of traditional wax!
For kick, a klister binder would suit the conditions best. It’s possible we will use hardwax, but a klister binder will help the wax stay durable and handle the aggressive, transformed snow that forms the main base of the trails. You can see a clip of some klister binder waxing at the bottom of this page.
We will be testing kickwaxes on the day of the race, and can provide recommendations or even just some wax itself. For klister application, we will have our wax roller to help apply klister quickly and easily. Check in with coaches to get the latest!
