Free Fall Rollerski Volunteer Update

Thanks to everyone who jumped-in for a robust volunteer response! This race should be very fun.

PLEASE NOTE that to watch the race, you MUST BE A VOLUNTEER. Spectators are not permitted on the base, and all volunteers will be added to a list prior to the race. If you aren’t on the list, you won’t be able to enter the range!

I have added several spots for “course monitor” positions…essentially spectators that need to be at a designated spot on course, with contact ability (a cell phone or radio) to reach the chief of course in case there is an incident. Please sign up here if interested!

We’d like to have all volunteers confirmed and locked-in by Friday evening since we will need to submit the list of participants/volunteers before the weekend.

Thanks!

Free Fall Rollerski Race: Seeking volunteers!

MNC members and community:

NENSA is hosting a big rollerski race at The Range on Sunday, September 19th. While NENSA is the “host” of this event, we are helping out and would love to have as many volunteers as possible taking part. The more MNC faces, apparel, racers, and volunteers on-site the better the PR and broader the scope of this great event.

This race is already set to include skiers from the US Ski Team, SMS T2, Sun Valley Gold Team, BSF Pro Team, and more as some of the nation’s top skiers will be in Vermont for a training camp the week of this race. This is an amazing opportunity to see some of the best in the country (including some upcoming 2022 Olympic skiers) live in action.

Oh, don’t forget that you can also register to race, and we hope that MNC athletes without other sport conflicts will do so!

Since this event is on a Sunday, it frees up many of our Junior running athletes who may have the day off after an XC meet. This is the perfect thing to do on an off day from training or racing cross country.

You can find a volunteer form/spreadsheet linked below, where you can input your name and information. This race will not have spectators, so volunteering is your ticket to see the action. We hope you can make it!

MNC Sweatshirts!

The cool fall air is here, and the MNC sweatshirts have arrived just in time! This order is designed as a fundraiser, so not only are you getting a sweet piece of MNC gear, you’re directly supporting the club! Our last club-wide sweatshirt order was back in 2016 and it’s time to bring it back. Perfect for fall sports (competing OR spectating), school days, holiday gifts, or as a piece of iconic fall fashion, the hooded sweatshirt is hard to beat.

Comes with the MNC shield logo on the front, and the “Mansfield Nordic Club” wording across the back. Consider sizing up: these do shrink and they can run a bit small. For reference, these are the exact same model as the “Life of Pablo” edition sweatshirts from Mountain Camp 2018. Coach Adam wears a size large, perfect after a few cycles through the dryer.
