MNC Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone who came out to the MNC Annual Meeting last night! We had many great moments and experiences to look back on, and the great turnout and positive energy showed that our club is ready for a great winter ahead. Some of the events of the evening included:

  • Rental and distribution of Friday Fox ski equipment with Dan
  • A fun “hash run” at Mills Riverside park, organized by Jim and JoAnn. Lots of twists and turns, and it’s safe to say everyone got some solid distance covered!
  • A delicious potluck meal with dishes from all of our members
  • Speeches and discussions from Kort and Adam on the club’s past, present, and future [Presentation Link]
  • A discussion from special guest Patrick Weaver on his time as a US Ski Team athlete and Olympian, as well as his take on skiing in college. [Presentation Link]
  • A raffle and silent auction featuring gear and goodies from Toko, Mammut, and Bobo’s Oat Bars.

NENSA BKL Lease Skis for sale!

The NENSA ski lease program has ended, and the equipment is now available for purchase! More info is below and a link to purchase can be found by clicking HERE

PLEASE NOTE:
There are two types of equipment:

“Touring” =boots are tied, and that there is no cuff, poles have rounded rubber tips

“Competition” =the boots have stiff cuffs, poles have metal tips, some have advanced straps

There are 4 levels of wear:

“Excellent” = never been used

“Good” = used for a few years

“Fair”= have 1-2 years left in them, but they are the last ones leased out later in the season last year.
“Poor”= skis have lots of scratches, great as rock skis

BKL Fall Fridays

A winter chill is in the air, and that means ski season is right around the corner! MNC is excited to be hosting BKL Fall Fridays each Friday afternoon through November 18th. You can check out a detailed schedule of alternating locations below!

Fall Fridays

What: Fun games, ski-specific activities like hillbounding and strength training, and general fitness work. For all skiers at the BKL level, this is a great way to start getting ready for the season ahead and also spend time with fellow MNC members! Rollerskis will be available for skiers to try on certain days.

When: Every Friday afternoon (3:45pm-5:15pm) from October 21 through November 18th.

Where: Sessions will alternate each week between Mills Riverside Park in Jericho and Williston Central School. See schedule below:

October 21: Mills Riverside Park

October 28: Williston Central School

November 4: Mills Riverside Park

November 11: Williston Central School

November 18: Mills Riverside Park

Toko wax/glove order 2016

Thanks to the generous support of our friends at Toko, we are once again able to order fantastic gloves, tools, wax, and apparel for discounted prices through our OTHER supporters at Skirack. What a Nordic community!

Forms may be downloaded below. All forms must be electronically filled out and submitted via email

Instructions for submission:

  1. Download the form(s) below and select your desired goods
  2. Re-save the document, and email it to Dave Boucher by Decmber 6th
  3. Please use the subject line MNC Toko Order 2016 [Last Name]
  4. Please be sure to include names, email and phone numbers on the order form so that you can be contacted when the order arrives!
