Masters update 2/4

MNC Masters,

Due to the increasing temps and springlike rain, skiing at the Range has been closed indefinitely. For those interested and available, I will be leading some easy running with ski poles (classic or short bounding poles) and dryland technique practice at Williston Central School from 4-5pm tomorrow. We’ll meet at the skatepark lot, near the volleyball courts.

Do your snow dances!

BKL Practice Update for 2/4

Update 2/03:
Range is closed on Thursday, but we’ve lined up a fun alternative…rock climbing!
BKL Practice will be at MetroRocks:  6 Susie Wilson Rd, Essex Junction, VT 05452. Turn into Lowes Entrance, follow the drive all the way to the back past Skateland.
Details: • 4-5:30pm  (you are welcome to stay later with your kids)
• Cost:  $18 for shoes, harness & climbing  (this is a discount)
• Check in at 4, pay, get your shoes & harness and then a staff person will give us as quick lesson on how to wear the harness, how to boulder and how to use the auto-belays. After that we will be free to climb the bouldering areas and use the auto-belays.
• PARENTS MUST COMPLETE A WAIVER FOR THEIR CHILD in order for the child to climb. Parents will also need to sign a waiver if they climb themselves. THERE ARE ELEVEN SPOTS TO INITIAL ON THE WAIVER- BE SURE TO SIGN THEM ALL!  Kids may not climb without a waiver!
See you at Metro Rocks!!

Range today: please park in lower lot

All,

Grooming staff at the Range has requested that today we park in the lower lot (to the left, before the big equipment building). This is to avoid walking over the trail, which brings debris and mud onto the surface. Let’s try to maintain the snow we have! Thanks-

-Adam

BKL Training 2/2 – 2/4

A big high five to all MNC racers who skied fast and fired away at their targets in the 2016 Paintball Biathlon race this past weekend! Many top performances and podium positions were claimed by MNC members, and many targets were splattered with all sorts of paint!

This Tuesday (2/2) we will skate ski with the first annual MNC Lollipop Timetrial! Racers are encouraged to try this interval-start race format…you pick the distance, and a lollipop awaits at the finish regardless of your time.

There will also be a wax clinic with Dave Boucher from Toko from 4:45 to 6:00 on Tuesday. Bring any skis you’d like to wax!

This Thursday (2/4) we will classic ski. Those who did not get to try air rifle biathlon can give it a go (bring skate gear) and the rest will work on technique and our striding skills!

This Saturday (2/6) Saturday, BK Racers:  Ski-Cheer Intervals at the Eastern Cup at Trapps:  Meet Coach Rosemary at the MNC tent at 9 AM with your SKATE skis. We will do a ski, find some spots to watch the U16 boys, ski some more, and then get back to watch our U16 girls and women race (including Coach Rachel). We will finish with a little more skiing and will be done by noon. E-mail Coach Rosemary at sheacobb19@gmail.com if you plan to go. Also, MNC Junior Families do a potluck lunch & snacks at our tent. ..see below:

Please do remember to bring your own travel mug for coffee/mochas so we can be a GREEN as possible – thanks! If there is something that you want to bring that is not on the sign up, please let Sharon  know (sharonhenry5149@gmail.com) and she can add so that the food remains (somewhat!) coordinated.

Thanks everyone for your potluck contribution!

Also, check the blog later in the week for an update. With variable snow conditions, plans may change!
