Rollerski Options (Order soon!)

We have 2 great options for rollerskis this spring! Our friends at Skirack have passed along some special pricing on Swenor rollerskis, which you can check out via the form below. Orders need to be in by April 29th to guarantee the best stock!

Skirack Swenor Order

For more info on Swenor models, check out their website HERE.

We also have an option to get 10% off of Pursuit rollerskis through www.rollerskishop.com

These are also great skis produced right in the USA. HOWEVER, to get this 10% we need to have at least 4 orders, and they all need to be paid/ordered at once. A bit more of a logistical ordeal! For this option, we are going to propose a request for models by May 15th. To submit your choice for Pursuit rollerskis, please use the RollerskiShop button below. Once all orders are in, we will connect everyone on this list via email to arrange payment.

…or warm ski races!

Masters of Mud N’ Ice

On Saturday, the most diehard souls in the north convened at Craftsbury for a very unique race. The annual Mud n’ Ice Quadrathlon is a competition combining skiing, running, paddling, and cycling. Some choose to tackle the event solo, going the distance in every event. Of course you know Quincy aka Lil Q is just the type of racer for that grueling expedition!

But the MNC Masters team of Mike, Kort, Rick, and Liam proved their multi-talented athletic skill with each member tackling a leg and racing against World Cup athletes and Olympians with no fear.

Mike started things off on the ski leg, a 4-lap course on the homologated sprint loop. If 4 laps of a sprint course doesn’t sound too tough, consider that it was 50 degrees and deep enough slush that you sank up to your ankles with every skate push!

Mike tagged off to Kort, who ran 5 miles along the rugged dirt roads and hills of Craftsbury. One descent was the namesake of the event: a class 4 road going steeply downhill, still frozen over with ice except for the muddle stream of water pouring down the center.

Kort ran straight down to the Black River where Rick was waiting with his boat. Rick had the FASTEST paddling time in the whole race by over 2 MINUTES! That’s some impressive waterworks!

The final leg was handled by Liam on the bike. He may not be a Master by age, but as the head of MNC Masters programming he is more than worthy of competing under the Masters banner. With the 3rd-fastest bike leg Liam brought the team home on the final spot on the podium.

Final leg underway!

This is definitely a cool event that more Masters might want to check out next year! For full results check out the Craftsbury website.

NorPine Season

The spring is the season of NorPine, when there isn’t quite enough snow on most Nordic trails (unless you’re at Craftsbury or Bolton!) but the alpine slopes are still blessed with a few FEET of snow. It’s also closing season for many of these alpine areas, so the freedom to explore and cover more of the mountain is tantalizing.

There’s also plenty of skill-building to be had when you’re cruising through trees and glades on skinny skis…or sliding down the open slopes at high speed.

Many of the Juniors are competing in spring sports…but some have been making the most of a snowy spring to get out on the mountain.
