DESCRIPTION:Jim Fredericks and JoAnn Hanowski are hosting a Potluck outing at their home in Underhill\, VT.  This event is open to all MNC master skiers\, adult club members\, parents of Junior and BKL skiers and friends.  Participants have the option of a hike or guided trail run on some of the many trails on nearby Mt Mansfield followed by a relaxing wood fired sauna\, swim in the pond and/or pot luck meal. There will also be a badminton net set up and croquet for extra fun. We will gather for either a hike up Camel’s Hump or a road bike ride (2 route options) followed by a potluck. \nRide begins at Hinesburg Central School at 9:15AM \nHike meets (to carpool) at Brewster Pierce Elementary School in Huntington at 8:30AM \nWe will gather for a potluck lunch at the Henry/Solow household between 11:30 and noon! \nMNC cycling crew about to tackle App Gap and more \nDetailed schedule: \nACTIVITIES: \no   Bike ride – 9:15 am\, meet at Hinesburg Community School. The New England Club Relay Championship\, hosted by Mansfield Nordic Club\, will attract skiers of all ages and abilities and is perfect way to involve all club members in a fun and exciting event. \nRace Format\nRace Start Time 10AM\nThe race format will be four legs of 4km with 2 CL and 2 FS technique legs. The four person relay teams will be placed in two age group categories. Combined age of 200 years and over and combined age under 200 years. Each official team must be from the same NENSA Club/team. Unofficial teams (unofficial means not from the same club/team) may enter as well\, but will not score for the official club championship award. \nAwards from Toko will also be presented to the top Male team\, Female team\, and mixed team (made up of at least two women). We will also have a BKL award for top team with no designation for male\, female\, or mixed teams. \nClubs may enter as many teams as possible and club points will be scored using world cup point system. SUMMARY:BKL: Shooting Starts Youth Biathlon Fesitval
DESCRIPTION:The Shooting Stars Youth Biathlon Festival promises to be a fun introduction to the sport of Biathlon at one of our dedicated regional Biathlon centers\, the Ethan Allen Biathlon Range in Jericho\, VT.\nEnthusiastic volunteers have planned many activites that kids can rotate through to gain a taste of Biathlon.  For all particpants\, there will be a Paintball Range set up\, along with an Air Rifle range.  Inside there will be laser rifles for everyone to try and finally for our older participants ages 11- 14\, the .22 biathlon range will be open and clinics will be offered every 20 minutes for kids to learn how to shoot a .22 biathlon rifle at real biathlon targets.  The clinics will be taught by Algis Shalna\, an Olympic Gold Medalist in Biathlon and a USA coach for the last 25 years.  Algis has insturcted U.S. Youth for the last 10 years and is very adept at introducing the sport in a very captivating style. Many skilled vounteers will be supporting Algis on the range and throughout the venue.  Relays at each of the different Biathlon styles will complete the day.  Kids can chose which type of biathlon they would like to do for the relay or just spectate if they choose.Lunch and raffle prizes will follow the completion of the relays.Each participant will receive a USBA hat as part of their entry.For more information please contact Mary Anne Levins at malevins@me.com or 802-345-1665 \n\n\n\n\n For more details see the event flyer.  To register click here.\n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2017 HURT-athon! The Gore Mountain Ski Bowl Park is featuring a new and improved FIS homologated race course with snow making and lights and HURT nordic is proud to showcase their amazing facilities. We will be offering age group awards  for all race categories and this is a NYSSRA series points race. Plan on coming out to score some points for your home club.  The start for the juniors race\, masters women race and masters men race will be an interval start and we will do our best to seed the start list based on previous NYSSRA series race performances so that you will be near your immediate competition.  The U16/18 race will begin at 9:00 am. Following a 10 minute gap\, the Open/Masters Men field will begin\, followed by another short gap\, then the Masters Open/Women. \nDay-of registration will be $30.00 and you will not be seeded in the field.  You will be placed at the back of your respective category. \nIf you are not a NYSSRA member\, you will be expected to pay a one-day $5.00 NYSSRA racing license fee when you pick up your bib.  This fee can be included in your registration check or you can pay for it separately if you submit your payment online. \nREGISTRATION

DESCRIPTION:Event Info: Classic technique\, mass start and finish Pine Hill Competition Trails off of Grover Hill Road\, Bethel\, ME\, including: a 22 km\, 10 km\, and youth distances of 2.5 km and lollipop. Registration at Gould Academy Field House\, Church Street\, Bethel\, Maine\, from 9-10:30am. (Youth wishing to ski longer timed distances must enter the adult event and pay the adult fee). All events are at 11 A.M with the exception of the lollipop which will start at 10:45. The Moose is a New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) sanctioned event and part of the Zak Cup and Club Series.
