SUMMARY:Stowe Derby
DESCRIPTION:20km Long Course\, Freestyle & Classic\n– 6km Short Course\, Freestyle & Classic\nThe 2019 Stowe Derby will be held on Sunday\, January 13th! We have will have the traditional date of February 24th as a contingency plan if January 13th does not happen. Bib pickup\, après party\, and awards ceremony at the Town & Country\, where we’ll enjoy chili\, beer and raffle prizes. \nThe Stowe Derby is one of the oldest and most unique ski races in North America. It started in 1945 as a personal bet between two amazing skiers: Sepp Ruschp\, an Austrian\, and the head of Stowe’s new ski school\, and Erling Strom\, a world famous mountaineer from Norway. Their challenge was simple: a race from the top of Mt. Mansfield\, Vermont’s highest peak to the historic village of Stowe\, on a single pair of skis. The ultimate test of a skier’s ability. Ruschp was the winner of the first Stowe Derby.

SUMMARY:Bogburn Classic BKL
DESCRIPTION:Update 1/09 from the Bogburn FB page:  Due to the predicted cold weather All BKLers will race 2.8 km (last year’s 7-8th grade course) this will allow one single line up for the start instead of waiting for each age group to finish. The start will be at 11 AM instead of 10 AM. The lollipop race is cancelled. \nThe Bogburn Classic also has BKL races starting at 10 AM.  See Ski Reg for schedule.  If conditions are not so good\, the event will be held at the Woodstock Inn and Touring Center. Stay up-to-date on conditions with the Bogburn Facebook page. \nRegister online by 1/11/19  at SkiReg .  If they need to cancel\, Bogburn has promised to refund your entry. Day of Race registration should also be available for BKL. \nCoach Rosemary will be on hand to help wax skis. Plan to arrive 90 minutes before your start and email her if you are going so she knows how many to expect:  Rosemary \n
