SUMMARY:New England BKL Festival
DESCRIPTION:Take a “Glide on the Wild Side” and come to Rikert Touring Center in Ripton\, VT for the NE BKL Fest: a kids’s ski festival!\n\nThis event is so much fun and this year\, it’s not too far away! MNC always has a good crowd of kids at every Festival and they have so much fun racing and playing on skis together!  There are races each day (first day relay\, second day individual) and a whole lot more- face painting\, animal trail in the woods\, a family mini-marathon\, a terrain park\, 8th grade graduation\, and an opening parade. Kids who don’t want to race can register for the Nordic Adventure and do all the other activities.  We’ll have a team of coaches on hand to help with wax and we’ll get a potluck going for lunches.\n\n1) Make a Lodging Reservation NOW if you plan to go. DESCRIPTION:Registration is OPEN: https://www.skireg.com/bretton-woods-nordic-marathon-at-omni-mount-washington-resort-to-benefit-the-new-england \nRace Information: \n42km and 21km Classic Mass Start.  The 42km race is a part of the New England Marathon Series and the 21km race is a scored Zak Cup event.  Both races will be scored for Club Cup Points. \nTo Benefit the New England Ski Museum – “Preserving the Future of Skiing’s Past” \nEvent info:\nClassic Technique Marathon\, Half-Marathon\n– 9:30 am mass start for 42 KM (2 x 21k loop)\, 21k. Timed and un-timed classes for both. \n– Compete or Tour on the trail network of the historic Omni Mount Washington Resort. \n– Marathon event fee includes: Apres-ski awards — 5 year masters age groups top 3\, meal and raffle held in Mount Washington Hotel\, trail pass for Saturday 3/2\, feed stations and proceeds benefit the New England Ski Museum.\nThe first 300 skiers to register receive a free SWIX hat. \n– Meal tickets for racers’ guests: $15. \n– The event field is limited to 400. \nBKL EVENT: There will be a BKL event on the same day. SUMMARY:Ski\, Shoe\, and Fatbike to the Clouds
DESCRIPTION:https://www.greatglentrails.com/ski-shoe-fatbike?page=ski-shoe-fatbike \nNow in our 23rd year\, this challenging event takes place at Great Glen Trails and the snow covered Mt. Washington Auto Road. Long referred to as “North America’s Toughest 10K”\, the Ski\, Shoe & Fatbike to the Clouds course has an average grade of 12% over the last 6K as you climb the final 2\,200 vertical feet. While there will be competitors who are seeking to make or break a record\, for others it is the ultimate way to personally test themselves in one of nature’s most spectacular environments.After covering 4k on the Nordic system\, racers will have the Mt. Washington Auto Road to themselves as remarkable views of the Presidential Range and beyond reveal themselves. On race day\, there will be a mass start of cross country skiers at 10 am\, followed by the snowshoe start at 10:05 am and Fatbikers at 10:10 am. Ski\, Shoe & Fatbike to the Clouds is considered a true freestyle event\, there will not be separate classes for classic and skate skiing.New for 2019 the skiing event will be scored to the Zak Cup Series. \nEntry fee for 2019: \n$35.00 (until 11:59pm Feb 26);\nFebruary 27 – March 2 – $45;\nNO DAY-OF REGISTRATION. \n2019 registration includes:\n– Great Glen Trails pass for race weekend: Saturday\, March 2nd and Sunday\, March 3rd\n– FREE use of Dion Snowshoes for the race (*Limited quantities\, available on a first-come\, first serve basis)\n– Warm clothing transfer to finish line\n– Finisher medal\n– Post race soup and refreshments\n– Eligibility for placement awards\n– Entry into the post race prize raffle\nBib Pickup and Warm Clothing Drop-off::\nSaturday: 8:30 am-4:00 pm\nSunday: 7:00 am-8:30 amWarm clothing for the finish line must be in a marked bag and dropped off at registration as early as Saturday and no later than 8:30AM on Sunday.\n\nContact:\n\nLisa Matthews\nEvents Director\nlisa@mt-washington.com
