DESCRIPTION:Click here for the event website.\n\nWhen: 8:00 am Race Registration at the Outdoor Center \n9:00 am Race Start \n11:00 am Awards Ceremony at the Outdoor Center \nWhere: Outdoor Center \nCost: $5 \nType of Event: Nordic\, Race\, Ski \nEvent Details: The snow has come at last and we are ready for a race!  Join us for this exciting classic technique 5k race to our rustic cabin in the woods.  Please plan to register inside the Outdoor Center between 8 am and 9 am\, with the race starting promptly at 9 am.  The race will be a mass start. \nFollowing the race\, competitors will be greeted with their warm clothing and hot chocolate at the cabin.  An awards ceremony will take place at the Outdoor Center with prizes for the top three athletes in men’s and women’s categories. \nSpectators are welcome at this event.  We love to cheer our athletes on! There can never be too many clapping hands and encouraging voices throughout the course.  If you’d like to know the best places to cheer\, please check with the Outdoor Center the morning of the event. \nSee you on race day!

SUMMARY:Stowe Nordic Enduro\, BKL & Citizens
DESCRIPTION:This Enduro format event consists of multiple timed sections along a marked 15 km course (4 sections) or 10 km course (3 sections).  Interval wave starts will launch at 10:00 am with skiers in the 15 km race starting first.   Between each timed section\, skiers can take a break\, get some food\, or ski straight on to the next section.  The course map will be made available on race day\, but the timed sections will only be discovered once out on the course.  The course will make use of all types of excellent terrain available throughout the Stowe Mountain Resort Cross Country trail network. Participants will wear bibs and carry time cards that will be used for scoring each timed section.  It is the responsibility of the athlete to return their time cards upon completion where times will be totalled and results & prizes determined…note that prizes are not all based on fastest times….

DESCRIPTION:The White Mountain Classic 30K is part of the New England Marathon Series\, the NENSA Zak Cup & Club Series\, and the prestigious NENSA 1-Day Club Championships! This is a classic technique marathon utilizing the unique trail system in and around Jackson Village. The course includes Jackson’s FIS Homologated Course\, Wentworth Golf Course\, and Eagle Mtn. Fields. Entry includes food stations\, post-race meal\, awards and random prizes to both racers and tourers. All proceeds will benefit Junior Nordic Programs and the Foundation. IT’S ALL FOR THE KIDS! Touring Classes are untimed. All skiers 13 and under must tour with an adult. SUMMARY:Eastern Cup #2.5: Lake Placid\, NY
DESCRIPTION:Why 2.5? This event is not technically a NENSA Eastern Cup\, but on Jan 21/22 NYSEF will be hosting the Harry Eldridge races in Lake Placid. Saturday’s race will count as a NENSA “Out-Of-Region” JNQ. This means that athletes will be able to score USSA points toward Junior Nationals qualification. Sunday’s race will not be scored for JN points\, but will be a great competition nonetheless. Depending on individual needs\, athletes may choose to race on Sunday as well as Saturday\, or get in a distance ski on the trails for Junior Nationals. \nThis is absolutely an event that needs to be on the radar of MNC juniors\, and it is for all intents and purposes an additional Eastern Cup race on the schedule. \nMNC has lodging available at one of the High Peaks houses (across the porch from last year’s house). SUMMARY:Craftsbury Marathon - MNC Masters Target Race
DESCRIPTION:The Craftsbury Outdoor Center is excited to host the 36th Annual Craftsbury Marathon. This classic New England ski marathon starts and finishes at the Craftsbury outdoor Center winding through open fields and wooded hillsides\, showcasing quintessential Vermont countryside. New for 2017 is a 16.5km (1 lap) option for those just trying a marathon for the first time\, a 33k (2 lap) middle distance and a 50km (3 lap) race for returning marathoners who are ready to go the distance. Each gender has its own mass start wave. The course will likely be a 16.5k loop that starts and finishes at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and features challenging climbs\, exciting descents\, and rolling trails that showcase the best that New England skiing has to offer. For BKL racers we also have a single-loop tour option. We will also continue to host the 16.5k high school race distance in 2017. Feed stations dot the route every 4 to 7 kilometers. After the finish\, all participants are treated to a hearty post race meal\, awards\, and raffle.
